Panel of Experts is a platform for convening panels of experts around a subject, asking them the questions that subject needs answered, and harvesting their solutions into a lasting, living library. Josh is the platform holder: he organizes subjects, keeps the protocol, and can sit on panels as an expert himself, but he does not need to be on every call. Anyone can use the platform to run a panel.
Boundary: these calls gather and propose. They never decide. Nothing said on a call becomes fact or canon on its own. Decisions and canon are made only through NEOS Den, which stays fully separate.
A harvested solution is proposed direction, almost canon at most. When someone adopts a solution and wants it to become fact or canon, it goes through NEOS Den. No call, panel, facilitator or harvester can declare anything canon.
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Subject | The organizing unit, for example wind energy, or storm water drainage for a new building. Everything lives under a subject. |
| Question | The problem. The how-do-we-do-this. Each subject holds a list of questions. |
| Solution | The answer an expert gives to a question. Solutions are what we harvest. |
| Panel | One live call where experts answer a subject's questions. |
| Harvest | The gathered, confirmed solutions from a panel, filed under the subject. |
| Expert | A panelist who answers. Can be a credentialed expert, a researcher who has studied what is out there and shows their work, or an AI trained in the field. |
The subject and its questions are set up in Notion before the call.
Roles are assigned: a facilitator and a harvester (two people recommended; one person may do both if the group chooses).
The call runs on Zoom, Google Meet, or a similar tool. The facilitator leads each question and manages who speaks.
Everyone who wants to respond gives their answer. The facilitator asks each: are you complete?
Confirm-back: the facilitator says back, in a few words, the solution they heard. The expert says yes or no.
If no, the expert restates the solution themselves in about one paragraph, and that becomes the recorded solution.
The harvester writes the confirmed short solution into the template, in that expert's row for that question.
Experts screen-share their sources live, and the links are dropped into the Notion page.
After the call, the transcript is attached and AI pulls each expert's longer explanation from it, placing it under their locked solution.
Panels meet on open calls.
